Tadalafil, known by brand names like Cialis and Vidalista, is a medication primarily used for erectile dysfunction (ED) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms. It also treats pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) as Adcirca. This versatile drug enhances blood flow to specific areas, aiding men in achieving erections and managing BPH, while improving lung function in PAH patients.
Uses
- Helps men achieve and maintain erections for ED.
- Relieves BPH symptoms such as frequent/urgent urination.
- Treats PAH by relaxing blood vessels in the lungs.
How It Works: As a PDE5 inhibitor, tadalafil blocks the PDE5 enzyme, increasing cGMP levels. This relaxes smooth muscle and boosts blood flow, facilitating erections and dilating lung blood vessels.
